Trending Instagram Hashtags In July

Wondering what the trending Instagram hashtags in July are? July is always one of the busiest months in the year as there are a lot of events happening, and people tend to spend a lot more time out and about (even if the weather isn’t quite as nice as it should be!). As a marketer, it is always smart to keep an eye on the trending hashtags so that you can jump on these for visibility. With this in mind, this post will take a look at a few of the trending hashtags in July.

Trending Instagram Hashtags In July

While July 4th is an American holiday (Independence Day), it is still a hashtag that dominates in the UK on that particular day. Social media is always flooded with people celebrating July 4th, which usually involves a BBQ and a few cold beers!

Of course, the Euros extend into July, and things are really heating up with England managing a deep run in the competition despite some questionable displays! Social media is flooded on game day with memes and photos/videos of people enjoying the action in packed pub gardens up and down the country.

The UK election also took place at the start of the month, which inevitably has led to a huge amount of traction on social media that will last for the rest of the month. While it is always best to avoid getting into politics when it comes to marketing, it is hard to ignore the impact that the election has had on social media this month.

Wimbledon also takes place during the first two weeks of July and always captures the nation’s attention. Social media is always filled with pictures of those fortunate enough to get into SW19, which usually involves looking smart and indulging in strawberries and creme more than watching the tennis!

As if the Euros and Wimbledon weren’t enough sporting action, the Summer Olympics kick off on July 26th and into August. Taking place in Paris, there is a great deal of excitement surrounding the event after much of Tokyo 2020 (actually took place in 2021) took place behind closed doors due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tequila lovers will be getting their cocktail shakers out on July 24th, which is National Tequila Day - celebrated both in the UK and US. You can expect to see lots of people sharing content of their favourite tequila-based cocktail as well as posts from the many celebrities that own tequila brands, including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (Teremana Tequila), Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul (Dos Hombres Mezcal), and Rita Ora (Próspero Tequila).

These are a few of the main trending Instagram hashtags in July in the UK. This is a hugely busy month with a lot happening in the UK, plus the (sometimes) good weather encourages people to spend more time outside socialising. As a marketer, you need to be on the pulse when it comes to hashtags so that you can stay relevant and visible in a competitive social media landscape.
